MCM Birmingham Comic Con 2016

This weekend was a weekend my oldest and me have been waiting for, the chance to go back to comic con a convention of all things comic and movie related.

This was the second time for my daughter and third for me, the first time we went I took all three of the little monsters ( one being 4 at the time and the other only 1 ) on my own ( bad idea ).

The younger two hated every minute which made it no fun for me and the oldest and we were unable to enjoy it, the second time I went kid free and again  found myself not enjoying it as much as I should, so this time I took the opportunity to spend some much needed time just me and my big girl.

(Check out mini batman photo bombing )

This time around we were able to relax and had so much fun, every time I go to comic con I am always amazed by how friendly everyone is, everyone there sharing a common interest and just wanting to have fun. You can tell that everyone who has dressed up has put in so much time and effort into there work and they just want to show it off.

Everyone we ran into she wanted a picture with and everyone was more then happy to take the time to have a picture with her, she knows there only costumes but even if only for a few seconds it brought some of her favourite characters ( and mine ) to life and made her smile from ear to ear.

Some of the highlights were the amazing captain jack sparrow who had the character so spot on even down to the voice that it could have been Jonny depp himself, she got to meet her favourite Harley Quinn, ride on a Pod racer and even try on a storm trooper helmet.

All in all we both had an amazing day, picked up some goodies, and I believe it has brought us closer together, so if like us your into comics or movies of all kinds look out for the next one and go along your have a blast!!

Here is a little video of our trip to MCM Comic Con 2016

Sisters- Siblings (March)

Today I am going to share a few pictures my wife took after school one bright sunny day in our front garden. Isn't it amazing how the sun shining can just lightening up everyone's face? The sun is so powerful when it comes to peoples emotions.

Our littlest lady is really missing her sisters when they are at school so as soon as they are home she is all over them. Demanding and bossing them around to play mummies and babies. She has them wrapped around her little finger. She has learnt so much from her sisters in her 2 years of life and we are very thankful for this.

"I smile because your my sister, I Laugh because there is nothing you can do about it"

World book day.

World book day is always a big day in our  house, we all love a good book even Moo loves her book of "pants" and it's highly anticipated sequel "more pants" so the girls love the idea of being able to go to school dressed as there favourite character. Over the years we've had Hermione, Eeyore, Bam Bam and winnie the witch to name a few but this year one wanted to be Red riding hood and the other wanted to be "sponge bob square pants" with a last minute entry from Moo on the night before of wanting to be Patrick.
We always try to make the costumes ourselves or at less most of them and the red riding hood was pretty simple with different coloured cloths and an old Easter basket.

But sponge bob was a bit tricker.  I grabbed a few boxes from work small enough to fit on there little heads and some new paints from the craft shop and that night started to draw on the face and  paint.

The only thing that took time waiting for paint to dry literally, only took a few coats till I was happy and to finish off the costume was a white shirt, a red tie, cut off brown trousers into shorts and some socks with drawn on lines.

The only problem was that once Moo saw sponge bob standing in her living room she wanted one, so the night before once My night shift had finished I sat till 2 am putting the finishing touches to a Patrick costume based on the same design as the spongebob.

I was really happy with my sponge bob and Patrick until the following morning when Moo decided she wanted to go as elsa!!!
Nevermind as long as she happy and all's well that ends well, roll on Easter hopefully no one wants to be a bunny.
